Tau Kappa Epsilon was founded nationally in 1899 on the simple philosophy that a man is not defined by his wealth, rank, or honor, but by his personal worth and character. It is by adhering to this principle that the Iota Gamma chapter at Truman State University has become the fastest growing fraternity chapter on campus over the last 5 years. Our diversity of opinion, background, and hobbies is unrivaled on Truman’s campus. Our interests range from Anime to politics to religion to sports to anything else. Wherever we go, we lead. Looking around campus, you will find Tekes at the forefront of many of the most successful student organizations such as the Catholic Newman Center, IFC, ROTC, College Democrats, Alpha Chi Sigma, Beta Beta Beta, and Delta Sigma Pi.
Rivaled by our commitment to leadership is our commitment to service. As a tribute to Frater and former United States President Ronald Reagan, every year we hold multiple fundraisers to support Alzheimer’s research. In the spring we raise money to support St. Jude’s research hospital, which was founded by a TKE alumnus, in addition to assisting in other organizations with their service events.First and foremost, Tau Kappa Epsilon is a brotherhood. We study together, we relax together, we serve together, and we socialize together. It is a community of support that aims to build better men for a better world through an emphasis on our brotherhood. We are always looking for men to share in our brotherhood. If this is something you would be interested in contact our Rush Chair or stop by the house. We always welcome interested men.
